BELIEF AND DOUBT

Throughout the pandemic we have been bombarded with new information, new ways of working and living, new statistics and data and yet throughout this unprecedented societal transformation we have also been exposed to misinformation, conspiracy theories and fake news. There has been belief and disbelief in the complexities of the situation we find ourselves in, raising doubts on our collective actions as a society and doubts on our ability to adapt to this ‘new normal’.

 

This poster typographically depicts the antithesis that we face whilst navigating through our daily lives, the polarities of hope and despair, belief and doubt that have, and continue to, challenge us and it is from this space of duality that society will metamorphosize into its post pandemic incarnation.

 

Belief and doubt was selected for exhibition by open call for artists for the On the Image 2021 Special Focus - Picture a Pandemic: The Visual Construction of Meaning in Digital Networks 13-14 September 2021
