Beijing Opera

The rich culture of the Beijing Opera provides a plethora of inspiration to draw from, and for these posters, I was mesmerised by the beauty and grace of the fan. The female characters handle this prop almost as an extension of themselves, creating a spectacularly visual dance for the audience. This is what I intended from this design; to create a visual dance that embodies the intricacy and precision of the opera and to honour the talent and dedication of the performers. The colours represent the beauty of the Dans’ makeup, emphasising the spirit of loyalty, integrity and courage.
